The colors is this rug really set off my teal couch and matching pillows, and it looks fabulous. The shag is more of a casual soft type great for playrooms and higher traffic areas. I would have preferred a silkier feel, but then, it would be harder to clean. I gave it 4 stars because my packaging was slightly damaged from Amazon and the edges of the rug were dirty. It was too much hassle to return the rug and reorder it, so I just whipped out the steam cleaner, and it worked beautifully. Also, there was more brown that I expected in the colors of the rug. Just me, but I would have preferred more teals, yellows, greens, purples, reds, oranges than the brown. It's kind of like getting the brown M&M when you wanted a green home run. Still, overall, a beautiful rug and perfect for my playroom loft.
