I first have to say the nightstands are not rich brown, they are a dark cherry. They must have had bright lights on the display model. The nightstands are much bigger then they appear in the picture. They look tiny in the image but they are tall and wide. I love them! They appear to be solid wood, are extremely well made and look very classy. If you have a traditional cherry wood bed/chest of drawers, these will fit in perfectly. I bought my bedroom set over 20 years ago and these nightstands look like they were made for them. The 3 draws all open (sometimes 1 is a false drawer) and are roomy. The bottom two are deep enough to fit a shoebox sized container and are wide enough to fit probably 2 of them side by side along with a few other items. The only assembly required was screwing on the feet and attaching the handles. The nightstands ship with the hardware screwed on inside the unit as to not scratch the wood. If you have a tall bed with thick mattresses, these should stand almost even with the top mattress.
