I bought this chest to hold a decorative comforter set that my wife and I got for Christmas. As usual, Amazon shipping was fast and free.

The chest arrived in six pieces - the top, bottom, and four sides, two hinge stops, and two bags of hardware. The instructions are mediocre, but the installation process is pretty straight forward even without good directions. The chest is held together with screw-in locks and pegs. I found the holes lined up perfectly and everything fit together snugly. The installation only took an hour, including a few minutes for deciphering the directions at the beginning and 15 minutes at the end to to switch the hinge locks to the correct sides.

The piece is an attractive black veneer, which is what we wanted to match our black veneer bedroom set from Value City. The hinges operate smoothly and the chest sits flat on our wood floor.

The only have two criticisms: first, there was a little damage to the inside edge of the trim on the inside of the lid. Since it's on the inside of the chest, you can't see it, and I didn't think it was worth taking a star away. The second criticism is that it's made in China. I'm tired of everything being made in China.

Basically, this is an excellent value for a nicely sized, solid blanket chest.
