The color of the wood is exactly like the picture. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. I also had purchased the matching end tables and now considering buying the matching sofa table. One thing the description did not tell you, it has adjustable feet to set it level on any surface. The only bad thing I have to say is about the allen wrench they send to assemble the table, it is so poorly made it is just enough to do one table.
