A sophisticated device with an easy-to-read LCD display, it shows indoor and outdoor temperature and relative humidity, air pressure in inHG or hPa (absolute or relative), a detailed indicator of rainfall data over one hr., 24 hrs. or total since last reset, wind speed in mph, km/h, m/s, knots or Beaufort, on-compass graphic wind direction display with speed and direction details, wind chill temperature, dew point temperature, weather forecast displayed by icons (like the symbols used in the news), weather tendency indicator and a storm warning alarm. All data from the base unit� and up to 175 sets of weather history data with user-adjustable measuring intervals� can be recorded and uploaded to your PC. The station also displays the correct time, all the time; the clock and calendar synchronize daily with WWVB radio. The unit is not dead accurate on wind speed, but it responds to a 5 mph breeze. I have been downloading the data to my computer. That is an excellant feature. It works well and it is cheap. I thought the instructions should say more about mounting the rain guage. The screws are inaccessable without dismantling the mechanism. Overall, a real buy!
NOTE: Oct2006 it is still working perfectly on original alkaline batteries. Still very satisfied.
