Cedarlooks 040404A Deluxe Adirondack Chair Review

First of all, I have to admit, this was awkward for me to assemble myself.. but I did it. I usually reinforce wood furnishing with a touch of wood glue when assembling. I didn't with this chair, so it creaks a bit. I've had it for a couple of months now. It gets a LOT of use and it's holding up well.

I would like to point out that this is not a classic Adirondack chair design. So if you're used to that this one will feel different. The back sits up straighter and the seat is shorter. Keep in mind that it's designed to be used with the ottoman and it's much more comfortable with the ottoman.

Mine arrived with two damaged legs (the wood planks were split down the middle) which needed to be replaced. So I called the supplier. Their customer service was very good and the replacements were free of charge.

I love how Minnie rotates around with the music. There were a couple of things I disapproved of though. One, I did not get a certificate of authenticity- unless they meant the box itself was the certificate. However, there was not a piece of paper that said anything about a certificate of authenticity. Also, the box it came in was very weak. I opened the box and took the Styrofoam out, and the whole box came apart. Some of the Styrofoam has stayed stuck to the piano and I can't get it off. Most of those things are minor to me- I've had worse. The snow globe itself is in good shape, it may be fragile but it shipped very nicely in such a fragile box. I'd say go ahead and buy this globe, it makes a nice addition for a collection.

It's clear from the condition of the Brazier that was shipped to me that Emile Henry has sloppy quality control. The cooking surface had obviously defective glazing, with small pebbles creating sharp bumps that will break off when cooking to expose the clay underneath.

This is the kind of thing you need to buy from a shop where you can check the quality before you leave the store. Now Amazon is telling me that I won't be able to get a replacement for a month. Great.

The price at Amazon is not discounted at all, so just go to Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table or another local dealer if you want Emile Henry cookware.

The Brazier itself it lighter than Le Creuset, which is a big advantage. And clay retains heat for very even cooking. It's a good idea with bad quality control.
